It seems that some teachers are easier to learn from than others.<\/strong><\/span><br \/><br \/><span style=\"font-size: 160%;\">If you are a teacher, this list might help you and if you\u2019re a parent or a student, why not give this list to your teacher at the beginning of this term?<\/span><br \/><br \/><span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong>Here are 19 instructions for my teacher<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li style=\"font-size: 160%; line-height: 30px; padding-top: 15px; margin-left: 30px;\">At the start of the lesson, be clear about what you want us to do.<\/li>\n\n<li style=\"font-size: 160%; line-height: 30px; padding-top: 15px; margin-left: 30px;\">Don\u2019t give too many instructions too fast.<\/li><li style=\"font-size: 160%; line-height: 30px; padding-top: 15px; margin-left: 30px;\">Show us how to do something as well as tell us. Use pictures and learning materials \u2013 these make it easier to understand.<\/li><li style=\"font-size: 160%; line-height: 30px; padding-top: 15px; margin-left: 30px;\">Be prepared to repeat the instructions.<\/li><li style=\"font-size: 160%; line-height: 30px; padding-top: 15px; margin-left: 30px;\">Teach the basics without rambling on about other things.<\/li><li style=\"font-size: 160%; line-height: 30px; padding-top: 15px; margin-left: 30px;\">Show enthusiasm for your subject.<\/li><li style=\"font-size: 160%; line-height: 30px; padding-top: 15px; margin-left: 30px;\">Let us ask questions to check that we are doing it right.<\/li><li style=\"font-size: 160%; line-height: 30px; padding-top: 15px; margin-left: 30px;\">Proactively check if we are doing it right.<\/li><li style=\"font-size: 160%; line-height: 30px; padding-top: 15px; margin-left: 30px;\">Smile when we ask for help \u2013 explain it again and do at least two examples with us.<\/li><li style=\"font-size: 160%; line-height: 30px; padding-top: 15px; margin-left: 30px;\">Write key information neatly and clearly \u2013 preferably on a whiteboard or give us a hand-out.<\/li><li style=\"font-size: 160%; line-height: 30px; padding-top: 15px; margin-left: 30px;\">Leave instructions\/spellings etc. on the board for a long time.<\/li><li style=\"font-size: 160%; line-height: 30px; padding-top: 15px; margin-left: 30px;\">\nHelp us when we get stuck.<\/li><li style=\"font-size: 160%; line-height: 30px; padding-top: 15px; margin-left: 30px;\">Be patient with our mistakes and when we need help.<\/li><li style=\"font-size: 160%; line-height: 30px; padding-top: 15px; margin-left: 30px;\">Be nice to us \u2013 please don\u2019t shout when we get it wrong.<\/li><li style=\"font-size: 160%; line-height: 30px; padding-top: 15px; margin-left: 30px;\">Number lines at both ends \u2013 using colour can also be helpful.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-size: 160%; line-height: 30px; padding-top: 15px; margin-left: 30px;\">Prepare notes to minimise copying from the board.<\/li><li style=\"font-size: 160%; line-height: 30px; padding-top: 15px; margin-left: 30px;\">Allow us to make audio recordings of the homework instructions or put audio on the school website.<\/li><li style=\"font-size: 160%; line-height: 30px; padding-top: 15px; margin-left: 30px;\">Accept and encourage work to be presented in different formats \u2013 audio, webcam, audio responses, PowerPoints, video, diagrammatically.<\/li><li style=\"font-size: 160%;
