Not one of you said, you only had one learning style preference.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \n<p style=\"padding-bottom: 5px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 200%; font-family: Arial; line-height: 35px; color: #3366ff;\"><strong>This supports the idea that multisensory teaching methods cater to more learners.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n   \n<p style=\"padding-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 10px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 160%; font-family: Arial;\">Even when you weren\u2019t sure which learning style you were, you were able to identify learning styles you enjoyed.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dyslexiadaily.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/5-1024x683.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13023\" width=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dyslexiadaily.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/5-1024x683.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.dyslexiadaily.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/5-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/www.dyslexiadaily.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/5-768x512.png 768w, https:\/\/www.dyslexiadaily.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/5-150x100.png 150w, https:\/\/www.dyslexiadaily.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/5.png 1500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div> \n\n<p style=\"padding-top: 10px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 160%; font-family: Arial;\">Interestingly the old \u2018Chalk and Talk\u2019 or Verbal learning style was selected by only 31% of you as being one of the learning styles you have prefered.<\/span><\/p>\n \n<p style=\"padding-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 10px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 160%; font-family: Arial;\">Visual learning was by far the most popular with almost 94% indicating this was one of their preferred learning styles. \nThe graph below shows the results. More of them enjoyed learning kinaesthetically with movement. Also, there was a higher number of your children that enjoy learning via an auditory format when compared to you. Perhaps this has something to do with the popularity of audiobooks and podcasts instead of reading to gain information.<\/span><\/p> \n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dyslexiadaily.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/354918-PAPUIW-790-1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13065\" width=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dyslexiadaily.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/354918-PAPUIW-790-1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.dyslexiadaily.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/354918-PAPUIW-790-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.dyslexiadaily.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/354918-PAPUIW-790-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.dyslexiadaily.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/354918-PAPUIW-790-1-150x100.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div> \n\n<p style=\"padding-top: 10px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 160%; font-family: Arial;\">Without more in-depth research, it is difficult to know if these results are indicative of; the type of learners your children are and the fact that they find learning difficult in a formal school setting. This spread of results could simply be due to their young age or perhaps this is just a common set of learning preferences for children of this generation.<\/span><\/p>  \n\n<p style=\"padding-top: 10px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 160%; font-family: Arial;\">The important takeaway message from these survey results is that your children learn differently from you and that teachers, where possible, need to allow for these varied learning preferences.<\/span><\/p>  \n \n<p style=\"padding-top: 10px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 160%; font-family: Arial;\">The old fashioned teaching styles of chalk and talk did NOT rate as a popular learning preference for our kids.<\/span><\/p>  \n\n<p style=\"padding-top: 10px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 160%; font-family: Arial;\">Visual, Kinaesthetic and Auditory learning styles were by far the most popular styles of learning for your children.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We asked you what your favourite learning style was and your responses told us; you either had more than one learning style preference or you really weren\u2019t sure.
