You’re not a reading Professor or even an academic for that matter! What makes you think what you’ve created\u2026 is going to work?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well it does work, and I’ve got plenty of evidence to prove it. I\u2019m Liz Dunoon and I\u2019ve got three children with dyslexia who all struggled to learn to read and spell. This set me on a journey to help them\u2026 not only to read and spell, but to get their confidence back and do well in life\u2026.to be happy and to succeed.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, this led me on another journey to help others. First, I started by writing what I thought was going to be an e-book that soon became a real book, Helping Children with Dyslexia<\/a><\/em>.<\/em>I remember it was so long when I took it to my publisher, he told me no one would get through it because it was as extensive as an encyclopedia, \u201cIt\u2019s too long\u201d, he said, so I pared it back and put all the extra information into my free hub website Dyslexia Daily<\/a><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next came lots of speaking gigs. I talked at schools, conventions, community centres and even to politicians, because everyone knows of somebody who\u2019s struggling at school.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next question was from parents they said, \u2018Your book is great. It’s helped me a lot, but now I need to way a way to teach my child to learn to read and spell. Can you help me with that?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At first I said, \u201cNo!!! <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, I’m a teacher, but I didn’t feel qualified to teach children with learning difficulties how to read spell\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But as the months ticked by my brain was working overtime. I was answering hundreds of emails every day from parents desperate to rebuild their children’s self-confidence and esteem. These were parents whose children were spiralling downhill quickly. Their anxiety levels were through the roof, some were self-harming and quite a few were having suicidal thoughts\u2026 and I\u2019m talking children as young as seven. It broke my heart. This desperate need from parents created massive motivation in me to create a reading and spelling method that would rebuild children and set them on the right path. The path that schools should be setting them on.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, I made a promise to myself and my new community of parents that I would do everything in my power to create a reading and spelling method that rebuilt self-confidence and worked. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It didn’t happen overnight, but it did happen. After three years of research and another two years of creating a vehicle that children could drive so they were in control of their learning. Our kids are smart they know what they need. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
