The Australian NDCO Program

NDCO’s are National Disability Coordination Officers who can be found across Australia. They are a national network of officers covering 31 regions across the country. The National Disability Coordinator Officer Program assists people with a disability (that includes dyslexia) to access post-school education and training, and then subsequent employment.

If you are the parents of a teenager or young adult with a learning difficulty/disability it would pay you to get to know your local NDCO. These dedicated individuals know all there is to know about the rights of people affected by disabilities, (including learning difficulties/disabilities) here in Australia. They can help you to help your child access funding, community services, and most importantly a right to an education. They can even assist you in your workplace to understand what is possible to support you.

They have some amazing resources that have been created over the years too. So ask about those as well. I have lots of them in my resource library and I refer to them on a regular basis.
